Key Responsibilities :
- Revenue Recognition:
- Manage end-to-end revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606
- Ensure accurate and timely recognition of software subscription and other recurring revenue streams
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and external audit standards
- Invoicing & Collections:
- Oversee the full invoicing process—from generation to delivery—with accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor aging accounts receivable and proactively manage collections
- Investigate and resolve billing issues professionally and efficiently
- Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client billing inquiries
- Provide prompt, clear, and professional responses
- Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal financial procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies and external financial regulations
- Reconciliations & Journal Entries:
- Perform monthly and ad-hoc account reconciliations.
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries with full documentation
- Conduct credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Research & Analysis:
- Support financial planning and reporting through data-driven insights
- Conduct research to inform investor reports and business decisions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- CPA certification (strongly preferred)
- 7–10 years of experience in revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
- Proven experience working with subscription-based revenue models (SaaS strongly preferred)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with investor reporting is a strong plus
Additional Details:
- This role requires presence in the Bangalore office at least 3 days per week
- Must be available to work during US Pacific Time (PT) business hours: 9 AM – 5 PM PT
