Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design & Strategy:
- Design scalable, resilient and secure infrastructure for enterprise SaaS, ML and real-time workloads.
- Architect disaster recovery and high availability solutions to ensure business continuity for mission-critical workloads.
- Develop governance frameworks for multi-account environments ensuring secure resource isolation and cost accountability.
- Anticipate growth and design for high throughput, low latency and scalable infrastructure through capacity planning.
- Continuously assess and introduce emerging technologies to enhance platform efficiency, reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with product, science, machine learning and engineering stakeholders to align infrastructure strategy with company goals.
- Platform & Operations:
- Drive adoption and enforce standards for Terraform based infrastructure management.
- Architect robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Spinnaker and Azure DevOps for rapid, reliable software delivery.
- Build and evolve EC2, Kubernetes based (EKS) platforms with Docker and ECR for microservices.
- Define SLOs/SLIs for key systems and design comprehensive monitoring (New Relic, CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK/EFK) and incident response strategies to meet SLO/SLAs.
- Implement strong IAM practices, WAF, VPC and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with SOC2, ISO 27001 and other regulatory requirements.
- Architect storage solutions (EFS, S3, RDS Aurora PostgreSQL, ClickHouse) and optimize data pipelines.
- Build and maintain internal developer platforms to improve engineering productivity and streamline deployments.
- Work with ML and Engineering teams to support GPU-based training environments and hybrid (cloud + COLO) compute.
- Financial & Documentation:
- Lead cost governance and optimization strategies across AWS accounts balancing performance with efficiency.
- Create architecture blueprints, operational runbooks and best practices for system management and scaling.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years in Cloud, DevOps, SRE or Platform roles with at least 3 years in a senior or an architect position.
- AWS Expertise: Expert-level proficiency with AWS including multi-account setup, networking, IAM, security and cost governance.
- Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in Terraform.
- CI/CD & Container Orchestration: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
- Scripting & Automation: Strong command of Python, Shell and bash scripting for automation.
- Cloud Fundamentals: Deep knowledge of networking, security, compute, storage and governance within enterprise cloud environments.
- FinOps: Strong FinOps skills and a proven track record of cost optimization in large-scale infrastructures.
- Microservices: Strong knowledge working with microservices architecture and API management (e.g., API Gateway, CloudFront).
- Observability: Experience managing observability and alerting platforms (e.g., New Relic, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK/EFK, Prometheus).
- System Design: Experience designing for SLO/SLIs, disaster recovery, and high-availability systems.
- Event-Driven Architectures: Background in Kafka, SQS and distributed event-driven architectures.
- Advanced Security: Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and advanced cloud security best practices.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Science, ML and Product teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- Multi-Cloud Experience: Experience with Azure cloud or GCP (familiarity is an advantage).
- ML Infrastructure: Exposure to ML infrastructure tools (e.g., Dagster, Ray, Weights & Biases).
- Datacenter Management: Experience managing COLO datacenters for GPU compute (servers, switches, firewalls, storage).
- Cloud Certifications: Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer).
