At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.
Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.
About the role:
The Platform group at Samsara provides the world’s best end-to-end software experience for physical operations. We provide reliable and secure infrastructure to power the platform and all of Samsara’s products, enable outstanding user experiences across core surfaces like our web portal and mobile apps, deliver core customer-facing features that span the platform, and extend the power of Samsara with developer tools and a rich ecosystem of pre-built integrations.
The Data & Extensibility team is part of the Platform group, responsible for:
- ensuring the quality, integrity, and scalability of the massive data sets collected by Samsara's various products
- developing and maintaining tools for data exploration and visualization
- building and maintaining APIs that allow customers to access and integrate Samsara's data with their own systems
- building tools and integrations that allow customers to connect Samsara with third-party applications and services to create custom workflows and alerts
In this role, as a Senior Product Manager, you will be a part of the reporting platform team within the Data & Extensibility group building features that allow customers to enhance security, compliance and sustainability of their operations. The reporting platform is highly strategic to Samsara as it enables customers to analyze their data across all Samsara product lines through native and custom reports. Your work will impact Samsara’s revenue growth and improve customer satisfaction.
The role would require you to collaborate closely with the engineering, data science and design teams at Samsara and build capabilities that impact our customers across the globe.
You should apply if:
- You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
- You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
- You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
- You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.
In this role, you will:
- Own the strategy & long-term roadmap for features to be built in the Reporting Platform - define the most important problems to solve for customers, and work backwards from winning
- Leverage data to understand customer requirements and market needs to ensure effective prioritization of features and build the long-term strategy across products and features
- Work with a talented team of product managers, engineers, data scientists, and designers to drive the team’s quarterly release plans and long-term roadmap
- Communicate across product line leadership to share your roadmap, evangelize your priorities, and seek out areas of joint innovation
- Partner with customer-facing teams to close strategic accounts, resolve escalations, and maintain relationships with top customers
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural values (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Demonstrable technical understanding, ability to grasp technical concepts, and establish credibility with engineers
- Strong analytical skills, strategic mindset, and the ability to synthesize customer insights and data into a cohesive strategy and product roadmap independently
- Deep expertise in product management with a proven track record of operating & delivering complex initiatives
