About the role:

Samsara’s Security DevOps team is responsible for the security, compliance and continual maturation of Samsara’s build pipelines and public cloud networks. Using industry best practice approaches, we will pave the path toward secure-by-default configurations, easing security and compliance burdens for our partnering product teams.

In this role, you will:

• Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team.
• Lead your team in driving the continual maturation of Samsara’s build pipeline and network security.
• Collaborate strategically with other leaders and platform teams to meet critical security and compliance objectives.
• Refine and maintain a strategic roadmap that achieves quarter over quarter risk reduction.
• Report and present your team’s wins, lessons learned, and progress to leadership.
• Set a high standard for the reliability of your components.
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Minimum 2 years experience leading technical staff in either a Security or DevOps discipline
• Minimum 7 years hands-on technical experience as a security engineer, software engineer, site reliability engineer, or security consultant
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
• Strong track record of delivering against committed roadmap goals
• Proven record of attracting top talent and coaching the team
• Strong understanding of security weaknesses, exploits, attacks and mitigations
• Demonstrated understanding of public cloud networking and related security best practices

An ideal candidate also has:

• Experience with multiple Public Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot security-related issues.
• Experience with performance optimization as applied to cloud network infrastructure
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance
