About the role:

In Samsara’s Core IT team, we work to deliver awesome systems, support, and experiences that enable our teams to be as impactful as possible. As a member of the IT Engineering team, focusing on AV, you’ll be responsible for owning the technology and processes that enable our people to present their best.

This role requires being at our SF HQ office 2-3 days a week, but each week will differ.

In this role, you will:

  • Join a small, dynamic AV team; and optimize the existing AV SME knowledge the team currently has
  • Work with your manager to develop a 1-3 year AV strategy for Samsara, including budgeting needs and organizational structures
  • Offer clear, well-articulated communication to our business stakeholders
  • Need to have the ability to set up, run and troubleshoot all general AV equipment in our offices
  • Need to set up, run and troubleshoot video conferencing and streaming equipment
  • Plan and integrate the tools and services which help with collaboration in our workplaces
  • Manage our maintenance and integrations AV vendor, including vendor relationship, contracting and billing, and quality assurance
  • Coordinate, execute, and broadcast events such as company-wide town-hall meetings, earning calls or any high visibility events to thousands of employees
  • Seek opportunities to improve how we make our next event better than our last
  • You will be responsible for our AV configuration across the different geographies, as we expand
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal partners and external vendors across a global organization.
  • Be able to provide technical advice to presenters, leaders and staff on tech requirements and promote options to solve all potential issues.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 6-7 years of experience working in an AV environment
  • Must have clear and proven excellent communication skills
  • Expert knowledge with Q-SYS and Dante technologies
  • Troubleshooting experience whilst running high-viz events
  • A passion for learning and doing new things in a fast-paced environment
  • A college degree in a technical program (Preferably in AV, Computer Science, Information Systems or other relevant field)

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience with supporting live events
  • Experience interacting with Executive teams
  • Strong AV technical background with expertise in IT Infrastructure
  • Proven ability to set-up, configure and operate multimedia AV
  • Knowledge of Apple products (Macbooks, iphones, etc)
  • Demonstable skills in software programming or scripting
  • A YouTube channel for that added production value!

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver total compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs). A new hire RSU award is awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers are eligible to receive above target equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$115,192$169,400 USD
