About Us

Sage Care is a fast-growing Series A healthcare technology startup founded by leaders from Apple, Uber, and Carbon Health. We recently emerged from stealth with $20 million in funding led by Yosemite, and investors including General Catalyst, Metrodora Ventures (co-founded by Chelsea Clinton), OVTR.VC, SV Angel, Liquid 2 Ventures, Seven Stars, Refract Ventures, AME Cloud Ventures, and Apolo Ohno.

Our founding story and vision were recently profiled in Forbes, highlighting Sage Care’s mission to build an “air-traffic-control system for healthcare.”

With a strong customer pipeline, Sage Care is transforming healthcare by simplifying care navigation. Our platform makes it easier for patients to find the right doctor, helps providers focus on those who need them most, and ensures faster access to care. By harnessing clinically grounded AI and real-time optimization, we improve operational efficiency, increase system capacity, and deliver better patient outcomes at scale.

About the role

We’re looking for a dynamic and versatile HR professional to be an internal champion of culture and externally facing recruiting lead.

In this role, you’ll be reporting directly to the COO, acting as both an HRBP and in-house recruiter - balancing the support of our HR infrastructure including onboarding, benefits, and employee engagement alongside hands-on recruiting to add to our growing team. Your work will directly shape who we are as an organization and how our culture thrives as we grow.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations (50%):

  • Own HR processes across onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and employee records

  • Manage benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS upkeep

  • Establish foundational HR policies, handbooks, and frameworks

  • Support compensation benchmarking and job leveling

  • Oversee performance review cycles and feedback systems

  • Partner with leadership to develop people programs (L&D, engagement, recognition)

  • Serve as a trusted HR point of contact for employees

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations

  • Help shape company culture, values, and operating norms as we scale

Recruiting (50%)

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for technical, product, and go-to-market roles

  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to define role requirements and success profiles

  • Build scalable sourcing strategies and talent pipelines

  • Manage interview processes, assessments, and candidate communication

  • Drive a high-touch, inclusive candidate experience

  • Improve recruiting operations (ATS configuration, tracking, reporting)

  • Develop employer-branding content and outreach campaigns

Qualifications:

  • 4-8+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, recruiting, or a hybrid people-generalist role

  • Prior experience at a fast-paced startup (Series A-C preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, compliance, and recruiting processes

  • Comfort balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects

  • High integrity, discretion, and people-first mindset

  • Culture forward leadership and decision making

Nice to Have:

Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA)
