At Rossum, we use world-class machine learning and intuitive UI to eliminate useless paperwork and make the world go faster. Our ML Research Team builds the proprietary, state-of-the-art neural architectures that power Rossum’s production systems, processing millions of documents every week for customers worldwide.

We are looking for the best students to gain practical experience at our dynamic startup in Prague, following the elite standards of Silicon Valley.

This isn't your typical internship. We are looking for drivers - students with a background in ambitious research projects who want the autonomy to lead their own work while being supported by our Research Team, the group you will be joining during your internship..

THE PROJECT: Your Innovation, Our Support

This is a 2-month summer ML research internship with the potential for long-term cooperation or a future full-time role based on mutual fit and performance.

You will:

• Join Rossum’s Research Team and lead your own internship project pushing the envelope in SOTA deep learning and LLMs for document understanding

• Work hands-on with Python and PyTorch across Computer Vision and NLP

• Experiment on large-scale real-world datasets powering Rossum’s production systems

• Have access to research servers with dozens of high-end GPUs, terabytes of RAM, and hundreds of CPU cores

• Collaborate closely with senior researchers and engineers shaping Rossum’s core technology
  

Once you pass the interview, we don’t just assign a task - we fine-tune a project specifically to match your research interests and passions.

Top-performing interns may see their work deployed into production systems, contribute to internal research directions, and potentially co-author publications.

ABOUT YOU

You are an excellent student interested in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or NLP, likely in the later stages of a Bachelor’s program or pursuing a Master’s or PhD.

You bring:

• Hands-on ML experience through school projects, research work, GitHub/GitLab repos, or publications

• Comfort implementing models in PyTorch or TensorFlow

• A love for programming (and an appreciation that Python is hard to beat)

• A data-driven mindset - open to strong arguments, not dogmatic about assumptions

• Genuine passion for both technical excellence and meaningful real-world impact

Candidates with a strong profile will be invited for a standard coding interview - focusing on algorithms, data structures, computational complexity and object oriented programming.

Once you pass, we will proceed to matching your internship project for the summer and fine-tune it to fit your area of interest!
