Ribbon Health is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Data) to help build and push high impact scalability initiatives across our data collectors, data pipelines and APIs to support our next phase of growth.

To help us achieve our mission, we are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer (Data) who is comfortable with designing and scaling backend systems that manage Ribbon’s data, including the core data platform, and seeks to enable people to access affordable and high-quality care that is right for them. This is a full time hybrid role located in New York City and will report to our VP of Engineering.

As a key member of our Engineering, here’s what you’ll do:

Key Outcomes:

  • Scale our data extraction infrastructure and build-out our next generation of data pipelines
  • Automate repetitive tasks that will allow us to focus on what matters most
  • Build out end to end validation frameworks across our pipelines.
  • Scale our indexing solution to make sure we are keeping up with current and future commitments
  • Build out and scale our data warehousing solution to continue to drive our data decision making capabilities

The most important skills for the role are*:

  • 5+ years as a backend software engineer or data engineer with professional experience building highly scalable systems
  • Technology: Comfortable with designing and scaling backend systems that manage Ribbon’s data, including the core data platform
  • Empathy: Care deeply about implementing best practices to establish trust and reliability within our technical stack, because you understand the weight and responsibility of being the data infrastructure for our customers
  • Adaptability: Excited to break down ambiguous challenges and communicate thoughtful solutions to a highly technical engineering team
  • Communication: Strong communication with experience working cross functionally across multiple engineering teams to drive company wide initiatives

In addition to the above, it would be great if you also had:

  • Professional experience using Python
  • Experience in a fast paced startup environment
  • Experience working with healthcare data, specifically data about healthcare providers and organizations

Compensation:

We’re committed to an inclusive, consistent, and equitable approach to compensation and anticipate that this position will earn between $185k-200k annually. The exact salary will depend on the amount of relevant and transferable experience you bring to the role. You will also receive meaningful equity in the form of a stock option grant.
