Ribbon Health is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will be focused on identifying, scoping, building, and scaling company-wide engineering initiatives that will support Ribbon Health’s next phase of growth.

To help us achieve our mission, we are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer who is excited to break down ambiguous challenges and communicate thoughtful solutions to a highly technical engineering team, and seeks to enable people to access affordable and high-quality care that is right for them. This is a full time hybrid/flexible role located in New York City and will report to our VP of Engineering.

As a key member of our Engineering team, here’s what you’ll do:

Key Outcomes:

  • Work full stack across our products - ship targeted search experiences that navigate patients to the best provider for their needs
  • Build visualizations and insights that health plan customers can use to improve the quality of their provider data
  • Develop best practices and processes that will allow us to continue to scale a high velocity, highly functioning engineering organization
  • Automate tedious file ingestion workflows, enabling customers to achieve automation of their roster management

The most important skills for the role are*:

  • 5+ years as a full stack software engineer with professional experience building highly scalable systems
  • Technical: Comfortable working with React and Python or the ability to pick up these languages quicklyAdaptability: Excited to break down ambiguous challenges and communicate thoughtful solutions to a highly technical engineering team
  • Communication: Strong communication with experience working cross functionally across multiple engineering teams to drive company wide initiatives
  • Tenacity: Ability to move quickly and strive to implement mechanisms to drive high velocity, highly functioning engineering teams
  • Empathy: Show that you care deeply about implementing best practices to establish trust and reliability within our technical stack, because you understand the weight and responsibility of being the data infrastructure for our customers
  • Scrappiness: Love rolling up your sleeves and working on hard, ambiguous problems

In addition to the above, it would be great if you also had:

  • Experience working with healthcare data, specifically data about healthcare providers and organizations

Compensation:

We’re committed to an inclusive, consistent, and equitable approach to compensation and anticipate that this position will earn between $185k-200k annually. The exact salary will depend on the amount of relevant and transferable experience you bring to the role. You will also receive meaningful equity in the form of a stock option grant.
