The position

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Senior Payroll Automation & Data Specialist, joining our Payroll team, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding payroll services to our employees and customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze business processes and performance metrics data to identify and assess potential opportunities and benefits.
  • Understand the market and conduct competitive analysis end to end
  • Conduct performance reviews post-implementation and analyze if adjustments are needed. Validate if automation projects are delivering against the KPIs defined and ensure timely action, proper adoption, and appropriate support, maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Provide vision and clear Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), to innovate and automate manual processes, to decrease inefficiencies and support with business growth.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment automation solutions across Payroll processes.
  • Deploy process improvements quickly and iteratively, challenging yourself and counterparts to find minimal solutions to problems.
  • Work with Engineering, Product and Payroll to build intricate solutions to complex problems.
  • Continuously learn and share new skills, tools, technologies and utilise it to unlock new challenges and opportunities at Remote
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders acting as the key contact person. Take a hands-on approach to implement solutions and coordinate action plans, set timelines, and prioritize tasks to ensure a successful and timely project delivery.
  • Identify and propose change management or training needs for automation projects delivered.

Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in payroll process analysis or process automation.
  • High level expertise in Excel
  • Expert level leveraging full-stack engineering to deliver limited but well rounded solutions in short periods of time.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Cloud computing platforms like AWS or GCP.
  • Great judgment making both strategic (what to prioritize) and tactical (feature scope) decisions.
  • A strong sense of pragmatism and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding English written and verbal communication and collaboration skills at all levels to clearly articulate and drive the desired business requirements and outcomes.
  • It's not required to have experience working remotely, but considered a plus.

At first glance our salary bands seem quite wide - here is some context. At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce. We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.

The base salary range for this full-time position is between $ 46,000 USD to $ 104,000 USD. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
