New Ventures Associate - Cedars-Sinai
California, USA · Elkins Park, PA, USA · Los Angeles, CA, USA
About the Company
Redesign Health is a global venture and applied technology firm focused on building next-generation healthcare companies. We manage venture capital and venture buyout strategies, each powered by an AI operating system and team of leading technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Our venture capital strategy backs exceptional founders at the earliest stage, often before an idea is fully formed, often providing the first institutional capital and an unmatched degree of strategic healthcare-specific leverage through exit. Our venture buyout strategy partners with proven management teams at existing incumbents via control investments and delivers outsized value by rewiring core products and workflows with AI.
Since inception in 2018, Redesign and our portfolio companies have touched the lives of more than 15 million patients, raised over $1.5 billion from premier institutional, sovereign, and strategic investors, and built distinctive partnerships with marquee healthcare organizations around the world.
Redesign is based in New York and has offices in Bengaluru, Los Angeles, and Riyadh.
About the Cedars-Sinai / Redesign Health Partnership
Redesign Health and Cedars-Sinai have launched a Digital Innovation Platform, a first-of-its-kind venture creation engine embedded inside one of the world’s premier academic medical centers. The platform combines Redesign’s healthcare company-building methodology with something no standalone venture firm can offer: Cedars-Sinai’s 4,500+ physicians and nurses, its expansive clinical network of 40+ hospitals and sites of care, a purpose-built synthetic and de-identified data platform, and a standing commitment to serve as the first customer for every company the platform creates. Ideas originate from the clinicians and researchers who see problems up close every day. The companies that emerge are validated in real clinical environments before they ever reach the broader market.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to build generational healthcare companies. You will have something almost no one in a healthcare venture has: a fully committed institutional partner with world-class clinical expertise, deep data assets, and the infrastructure to pilot and validate at scale - all before a company writes its first check to a customer. The access is real. The commitment is structural, not performative.

About the Role
Most healthcare investors wait for companies to come to them. This role creates them.
As a New Ventures Associate, you will research opportunities across the healthcare landscape to identify space for new venture backable companies to be built or scale. You will build the competitive landscapes and market analyses that separate real opportunities from noise, and help turn that work into investment theses the team can act on. Our job is to evaluate and identify the right opportunities for venture creation and/or scaling while directing other solutions to the proper channel within the Cedars-Sinai organization. You will continue to develop the infrastructure that lets us do this repeatedly and you will spend real time in the local innovation community, building the relationships with investors and founders.
This is a strong role for someone early in their career who wants to get exposure to venture at the heart of where healthcare is delivered through a truly unique partnership. You will work directly with New Ventures and Cedars-Sinai leadership, help turn thematic research into opportunities to fund companies, and have access to clinical and institutional partners.
We are looking for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience in investing (banking, venture, PE, or other relevant areas) or research (consulting, strategy, other relevant areas) including with a preference for candidates with exposure to healthcare and digital health. We’r looking for someone with sharp analytical judgment, genuine curiosity about healthcare innovation, and the ability to earn credibility with clinicians, operators, and entrepreneurs. You should be able to move quickly, be comfortable with ambiguity, and provide succinct answers to complex problems.
This position is based in Los Angeles and will work onsite 3-4 days per week in our Cedars-Sinai office.

Socialize the Innovation Program: Foster a culture of creativity and innovation among staff by promoting the innovation program across the organization.
Meet with Stakeholders: Engage with stakeholders to learn about the various departments and institutes at CS, fostering collaboration and understanding of organizational needs.
Finalize Opportunity Zones: Driving identification and evaluation of opportunity zones to determine whether we believe there are viable investment theses for company creation.

What You’ll Need
1–3+ years of experience in venture capital, early-stage investing, startups, or a related field
Healthcare domain expertise preferred with the ability to develop original investment theses across care delivery, health tech, and digital health
Fluency in business model analysis, primary and secondary research, investment thesis development, and financial modeling
Bachelor’s degree required with demonstrated academic excellence
Core Competencies
Institutional Credibility: You hold your own in a room with senior clinicians and health system executives. You have worked inside or alongside a complex organization and understand how decisions actually get made, who needs to be brought along, and how to be useful to the people building internal support.
Analytical Rigor: You take an ambiguous question about a market and turn it into a clear, defensible answer. You build competitive landscapes, size markets, and pressure-test your own assumptions, and you can tell the difference between a finding that holds up and one that just looks clean. You know when an analysis is solid enough to act on and when it needs another pass.
Commercial Curiosity: You want to understand how businesses actually make money. You think about who pays, why they pay, and whether a model can hold up, and your questions get sharper as your sense for healthcare economics develops. You are not expected to have the final read yet, but you are building toward it.
Bias to Output: You move work forward without being managed through it. You hold several threads at once, hit your commitments, and produce clean material the team can put in front of leadership. When something is stuck, you surface it early rather than letting it drift.
Behavioral Skills
Self-Starter: You are comfortable working independently and can own the execution of your own responsibilities. You are proactive in transforming your workflows and don’t wait for someone else to tell you something is wrong or should be improved.
Clear Communicator: Able to translate analyses into concise insights for senior leaders, investment committees, and management teams.
Entrepreneurial: You are resourceful, proactive, and comfortable building from ambiguity. You treat the sourcing engine itself as a product to be developed.
Bias for Action: Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment characterized by urgency, ownership, and adaptability.
Technology Innovator: You proactively leverage AI and emerging technology tools to create extraordinary productivity and impact. You think ahead about how your role will evolve and independently experiment with, adopt, and refine technology-driven solutions.
