Who We Are Looking For

Re:Build Harness Solutions is building a digital-first wire harness engineering and manufacturing platform. We are seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to lead technical execution, operational systems, and customer growth for the business. This is not a traditional engineering management role. We are looking for an ambitious leader who thrives in ambiguity, builds scalable systems, and creates long-term customer value through engineering excellence, digital innovation, and operational execution. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in wire harnesses with strong customer engagement, business leadership, and manufacturing systems thinking.

What you get to do

Business & Technical Leadership

  • Lead technical strategy and operational execution for the wire harness business
  • Develop scalable systems for quoting, design reviews, manufacturing workflows, and customer onboarding
  • Track and improve key operational metrics including quote turnaround, smartBuild-ready designs, delivery performance, and ECO reduction
  • Support growth planning, investment prioritization, and business reviews

Customer Engagement & Engineering

  • Lead technical discovery reviews with customers across aerospace, defense, medical, robotics, and industrial sectors
  • Translate customer requirements into manufacturable, scalable solutions
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to establish Re:Build as a trusted engineering and manufacturing partner
  • Drive customer benefit through engineering optimization and rapid execution

Digital Manufacturing & Process Innovation

  • Own and improve digital wire harness workflows using Cadonix Arcadia, QuoteBuilder, AI tools, and smartBuild
  • Build repeatable RFQ/RFP and production execution processes
  • Partner with digital teams to accelerate automation, validation, and manufacturing integration
  • Help establish Re:Build as a center of excellence for digital-native wire harness manufacturing

Manufacturing & Operational Excellence

  • Support development of digitally optimized manufacturing capabilities
  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering, production, and customer engagement workflows
  • Align technical execution with profitability, quality, and delivery goals

What You Bring to the Team

  • BS or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (advanced degree or MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years in engineering and/or manufacturing environments
  • 3+ years leading technical teams in wire harness, cable assembly, or electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong understanding of wire harness design, manufacturability, and production processes
  • Experience with ECAD/wire harness design tools (Cadonix Arcadia preferred)
  • Knowledge of automated processing, assembly, testing equipment, and regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defense, medical, or industrial quality standards and ITAR environments
  • Proven ability to build scalable systems and operational processes
  • Strong customer-facing technical communication skills
  • Experience managing fast-paced, high-iteration customer programs
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Demonstrated use of data and leading indicators to drive business outcomes
  • Experience with project management, ERP/MES, and PLM/PDM systems
  • Comfortable using AI and digital tools to improve productivity and decision-making
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, or equivalent

Travel up to 30% required. Preferred location: Kalamazoo, MI (Re:Build Tekna facility), with consideration for candidates near major hardtech hubs.

Compensation Range: The base salary range for this position is $138,000 – $ 208,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
