Who We Are Looking For
Re:Craft Optimation seeks a Process & Mechanical Engineer Co-op/Intern to collaborate with engineering, trades, and project management. This position involves real-world project assignments.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
What You Get To Do
- Support project teams in diverse tasks: requirements gathering, concept & preliminary builds, process flow diagram (PFD) and piping & instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development, equipment specification & selection, engineering calculations, bill of materials (BOM) creation, materials selection, code & standard review/research, fabrication & assembly support, troubleshooting, and more.
- Generate plans & layouts using CAD software/tools and process simulation tools.
- Contribute to the creation and writing of technical reports & project documentation.
- Partner with a senior or principal engineer mentor to set and achieve personal and professional development goals.
- Participate in internal & client project meetings and compose reviews.
- Work with project managers to plan, manage, and complete tasks successfully.
What You Bring To The Team
- Currently pursuing a BS and/or MS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and personal management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment; naturally curious.
- Familiarity with CAD software/tools such as AutoCAD 2D/3D and/or SolidWorks is desirable.
- Ability to be on-site at our offices in Rochester, NY and/or Rush, NY.
- Familiarity with process simulation software; ChemCAD is the preferred choice.
- Previous co-op, internship, or relevant project background aiding engineering & creation of industrial machinery and/or automation solutions is an advantage.
- Prior exposure to ISO9001 or a comparable quality framework is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools & methodologies is advantageous.
- Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred.
Compensation Range: Rate for this position is expected to be between $22 to $25 per hour.
