As the Regional Tax Manager, you will lead and scale Rapyd's tax function across seven Latin American countries, serving as the region's primary tax advisor and strategic business partner. Based in our Bogotá office on a hybrid model, you will report directly to the VP of Global Tax and lead a dedicated regional team (Tax Team Leader in Colombia; Tax Managers in Argentina, Chile, and Peru). You will own regional tax strategy, compliance, reporting, commercial tax advisory, transfer pricing, and tax audits, ensuring tax excellence as we scale our high-growth fintech platform across LATAM.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Regional Tax Operations: Oversee the end-to-end tax function across seven LATAM jurisdictions, managing corporate income tax, indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and tax compliance.
- Drive Strategy & Business Partnering: Serve as the primary tax advisor to Finance, Legal, Product, and Operations, reviewing the tax implications of new products, cross-border transactions, merchant onboarding, and supplier agreements.
- Own Transfer Pricing & Compliance: Manage the regional transfer pricing framework, including documentation, compliance, intercompany transactions, and tax planning initiatives.
- Manage Audits & Governance: Direct all regional tax audits, disputes, and interactions with local tax authorities, preparing robust technical positions and defense files.
- Build & Elevate the Team: Manage and develop your direct reports (Tax Team Leader in CO; Tax Managers in ARG, CH, PE) and coordinate regional external advisors.
- Process Optimization: Drive tax process improvements, automation, and operational excellence across the region while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and global tax reporting initiatives.
Requirements
- Academic Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Law, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Experienced Tax Leader: You bring 8–10 years of professional tax experience, demonstrating a strong track record of leading and developing tax teams in regional or multinational environments.
- LATAM & Colombian Tax Expert: Deep, practical knowledge of Colombian tax laws (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and ICA) with proven experience navigating tax frameworks across additional LATAM jurisdictions (especially Argentina, Chile, and Peru).
- Strategic Business Partner: Highly analytical with outstanding communication skills and the ability to translate complex tax regulations into clear, commercial recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bilingual Communicator: Fully fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) with the ability to collaborate effectively with local teams and global leadership.
Nice to Have
- A licensed tax lawyer qualification.
- A Master's degree in Taxation.
- Prior experience in the FinTech, payments, or financial services industries.
- A combination of Big Four consulting experience and an in-house tax role in a high-growth company.
