About Ramp

At Ramp, we’re rethinking how modern finance teams function in the age of AI. We believe AI isn’t just the next big wave. It’s the new foundation for how business gets done. We’re investing in that future — and in the people bold enough to build it.

Ramp is a financial operations platform designed to save companies time and money. Our all-in-one solution combines payments, corporate cards, vendor management, procurement, travel booking, and automated bookkeeping with built-in intelligence to maximize the impact of every dollar and hour spent. More than 50,000 businesses, from family-owned farms to e-commerce giants to space startups, have saved $10B and 27.5M hours with Ramp. Founded in 2019, Ramp powers the fastest-growing corporate card and bill payment platform in America, and enables over $100 billion in purchases each year.

Ramp’s investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Thrive Capital, Sands Capital, General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Greylock, and Redpoint, as well as over 100 angel investors who were founders or executives of leading companies. The Ramp team comprises talented leaders from leading financial services and fintech companies—Stripe, Affirm, Goldman Sachs, American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Capital One—as well as technology companies such as Meta, Uber, Netflix, Twitter, Dropbox, and Instacart.

Ramp has been named to Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list and LinkedIn’s Top U.S. Startups for more than 3 years, as well as the Forbes Cloud 100, CNBC Disruptor 50, and TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies.

About the Role

Ramp is entering its next phase of growth—scaling globally, competing for top AI and technical talent, and preparing for the long-term discipline required of a public-ready company. As a Compensation Associate, you’ll help shape the frameworks, insights, and systems that guide how Ramp attracts, motivates, and retains exceptional talent.

You will work directly with Ramp’s Compensation Lead and partner closely with leaders across Finance, Talent, People, and Legal—many with backgrounds from top-tier consulting, private equity, tech or high-growth startups. Your work will influence some of the company’s most important decisions: talent and hiring strategy, performance programs, equity planning, and compensation competitiveness in emerging markets.

This role blends strategic problem-solving with hands-on execution. You’ll build models, pressure-test assumptions, design new approaches, and help run high-stakes processes that must scale as Ramp grows. It’s an ideal role for someone who is analytically exceptional, thrives in high-expectations environments, and wants to develop deep expertise in compensation while operating at the center of a fast-moving business.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the analytical backbone of Ramp’s compensation strategy—developing models, insights, and frameworks that guide hiring, performance, and equity decisions.

  • Advise cross-functional leaders (Finance, Talent, People, Legal) by translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that influence company-wide decisions.

  • Support and help run core compensation programs, including promotion cycles, equity refresh planning, and custom compensation structures for high-impact roles.

  • Design and improve high-scale workflows and tools, creating models, templates, and lightweight automations that increase accuracy and efficiency as Ramp grows.

  • Own high-stakes, end-to-end projects with a blend of strategic problem-solving and detailed execution—operating with speed, rigor, and a strong sense of ownership.

What You Need

  • 2–5+ years in strategy consulting, business operations, people analytics, finance, or other analytical/strategy roles.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; mastery of Excel/Sheets modeling.

  • Ability to break down ambiguous problems, structure approaches, and execute with speed and rigor.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analysis for non-technical audiences.

  • High ownership, low ego, and willingness to work across both high-stakes strategic projects and detailed execution.

  • Comfort in fast-changing, high-growth environments where priorities evolve quickly.

  • Curiosity about compensation strategy—even if you haven’t worked in it before.

  • Ability to work onsite from the New York office (near Madison Square Park) three or more days per week

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in compensation, total rewards, or workforce planning (not required)

  • Familiarity with SQL or scripting, or interest in learning.

  • Experience building or supporting incentive programs or analytical frameworks for HR, Finance, or Talent teams.

  • Prior experience in high-growth SaaS, fintech, or startup environments.

Benefits (for U.S.-based full-time employees)

  • 100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you

    • Partially covered for your dependents

    • One Medical annual membership

  • 401k (including employer match on contributions made while employed by Ramp)

  • Flexible PTO

  • Fertility HRA (up to $5,000 per year)

  • WFH stipend to support your home office needs

  • Wellness stipend

  • Parental Leave
