At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions that are tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America - where SMBs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.

R2 enables platforms in Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing and buy now pay later for business customers). We are a tight knit team coming from organizations such as Google, Amazon, Nubank, Uber, Capital One, Mercado Libre, Globant, J.P. Morgan, and Ualá. We are backed by world-class investors such as Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI-focused fund), COMETA, General Catalyst, Hi Ventures, Y Combinator, Femsa Ventures, Prosus, Endeavor Catalyst, among others.

We’re looking for a Senior Financial Operations Analyst to oversee R2’s regional financial operations across Latin America, the Cayman and U.S. entities, and regulated vehicles such as the SOFOM in Mexico and the FIDC in Brazil. This role will manage and control cash movements, reconciliations, and payment flows, ensuring financial accuracy and operational integrity across all jurisdictions.

The position reports to the Treasury and Financial Operations Senior Lead and collaborates closely with Treasury, Accounting, Data, and Legal teams to manage reconciliations, automate processes, and strengthen governance across R2’s financial ecosystem.

Responsibilities

    • Manage transactions and reconciliations related to the SOFOM (Mexico) and the FIDC (Brazil), ensuring alignment with regulatory and contractual requirements.
    • Oversee multi-entity cash flows, including cross-border transfers and settlements with partners, lenders, and investors.
    • Ensure consistency and control over all regional cash and transactional processes.
  • RECONCILIATION & FINANCIAL CONTROL

    • Oversee daily reconciliations of loan originations, repayments, accounts receivable, and payment transactions across R2’s systems and bank accounts.
    • Ensure that operational data, bank statements, and accounting records are fully aligned.
    • Investigate discrepancies and drive timely resolutions, including root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
    • Maintain standardized reconciliation procedures and documentation to support internal controls and audits.
  • CASH MANAGEMENT & PAYMENT FLOWS

  • Monitor daily cash positions across entities and support short-term liquidity planning.

  • Coordinate and validate funding transfers, partner settlements, and interest or fee disbursements.

  • Support Treasury in cash forecasting, ensuring funding adequacy for operating and lending needs.

  • Implement and enforce payment approval controls and treasury policies across jurisdictions.

  • BPO MANAGEMENT & GOVERNANCE

    • Manage and supervise the BPO responsible for reconciliations and settlements, ensuring SLA adherence and accuracy in deliverables.
    • Review daily and monthly reports from the BPO, escalating exceptions and ensuring timely corrections.
    • Define and monitor KPIs and dashboards to evaluate performance and reliability of financial data.
  • SYSTEMS, DASHBOARDS & AUTOMATION

    • Maintain and enhance internal reconciliation tools, dashboards, and financial reports to ensure visibility over operational cash and transaction status.
    • Work with Data, Product, and Technology teams to automate reconciliations and improve integration between systems (banking APIs, loan origination systems, ERP and FIDC/Trust systems).
    • Support system testing, implementations, and ongoing process optimization.
  • INTERNAL CONTROLS & REPORTING

    • Ensure all financial operations comply with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
    • Deliver recurring operational and exception dashboards for senior management.
    • Support external and internal audits with accurate documentation of reconciliations and payment workflows.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in financial operations, treasury, or reconciliations, ideally within fintech, financial services, or payment institutions.
  • Proven experience managing multi-entity, cross-border operations, including regulated vehicles (SOFOM, FIDC, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with cash management, loan originations, collections, and accounts receivable reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with ERP and reconciliation tools (NetSuite, bank APIs, automation platforms, or trust/fiduciary systems).
