We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America - where SMBs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.

R2 enables platforms in Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing and buy now pay later for business customers). We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can design highly scalable systems for Front-end services, integrate our systems into various third-party platforms, foster a culture of technical learning, and encourage teammates to grow into exceptional engineers.

What you’ll work on

• Design and implement scalable front-end architectures using technologies such as Server-Side Rendering (SSR), React, Angular, and/or Vue.js, with the expertise and criteria to choose the right tool for the problem at hand.
• Develop and maintain APIs that integrate with backend systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and synchronisation.
• Implement distributed architecture patterns to improve system scalability, flexibility, and fault tolerance.
• Work closely with the development team to ensure the smooth integration of front-end features into larger, mission-critical applications with tight deadlines.
• Contribute to company-wide standards and reliability.
• Increase the quality of the delivered code, towards a zero-bug policy.
• Think about security throughout everything you do.
• Promote a culture that fosters learning, growth, risk taking, and accountability
• Work with other teams to figure out how to build tools to make them more productive
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Front-end development and permeate them to the team.

Who you are

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in front-end architecture roles.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture patterns
• Proficiency in API design principles (RESTful APIs) and experience designing scalable APIs for large-scale applications.
• Expertise in front-end rendering libraries, including server-side rendering.
• Experience in designing and implementing robust data models for production using databases like PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and/or Snowflake.
• Experience in containers (Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes).
• Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment and ability to collaborate as part of a cross-functional team.

Bonus points

• Experience designing and implementing Event-Driven architectures.
• Working experience with gRPwC, Service Meshes (Istio, Linkerd, etc), API Gateways, Cyber security.
• Experience building integrations with 3rd-party APIs/services is a big plus.
