Collections Coordinator
R2
At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions that are tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America - where SMBs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.
R2 enables platforms in Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing). We are a tight knit team coming from organizations such as Amazon, Google, Nubank, Capital One, Uber, Mercado Libre, Globant, J.P. Morgan and HSBC. We are backed by world-class investors such as Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI-focused fund), COMETA, General Catalyst, Hi Ventures, Y Combinator, Femsa Ventures, Prosus, Endeavor Catalyst, among others.
We are currently looking for a Collections Coordinator who is highly adaptable, data-driven, and eager to lead a new era of AI-powered collections. This person will play a key role in managing multi-market recovery efforts across Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Brazil, primarily through AI-based tools and external vendors. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in collections strategy and vendor management, combined with curiosity and openness to adopting new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute collection strategies across mid- and late-stage portfolios, leveraging AI-powered platforms and automated tools to optimize efficiency and performance.
- Collaborate with product and tech teams to continuously improve AI collection flows, escalation rules, and automated communication journeys.
- Oversee performance of external collections agencies across multiple countries, ensuring alignment with internal KPIs and AI strategy.
- Train and coach agency teams on AI-guided collection processes, tool usage, and behavior-driven campaigns.
- Review and close monthly agency invoices and performance reports.
- Design, launch, and monitor campaigns across traditional (SMS, voice, email) and automated channels (AI, bots, workflows).
- Solve complex recovery scenarios using data analysis and creative, tech-enabled strategies.
- Maintain and update CRM and collection systems, including the configuration of automation tools for campaign triggering.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in collections or recovery operations, ideally across multiple markets (Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil).
- Strong interest and/or experience working with AI-based tools, chatbots, virtual agents, or predictive models.
- Experience with CRM and campaign tools like Zoho, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, etc.
- Excellent vendor management skills with a track record of driving performance in outsourced teams.
- Comfortable working under pressure and in fast-paced environments, with a solutions-focused and data-driven mindset.
- Experience leading or coaching collection teams (even indirectly) and aligning processes across markets.
- Written and basic verbal English proficiency (B1-B2).
- High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, metrics tracking).
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in fintech, lending platforms, or tech-based financial services.
- Familiarity with legal collections, NPL processes, and debt sale strategies.
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, SQL) or familiarity with automation scripting.
Work Conditions:
- Remote role – work from anywhere, preferable in Bogotá, CDMX.
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
Be part of R2 and help us redefine collections in Latin America through technology, intelligence, and empathy.
