About the Role

We are seeking an Executive Chef – Catering & Events to lead culinary operations for a growing hospitality and catering organization serving the Philadelphia suburbs.

This is an administrative and operationally focused chef role, rather than a traditional hands-on event position. You will oversee purchasing, food and labor costs, inventory, prep planning, kitchen staffing, menu planning, and culinary operations across multiple venues, catering brands, and food trucks.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead culinary operations from the central commissary kitchen.
  • Develop annual purchasing and standardized menu plans.
  • Manage food and kitchen supply purchasing, vendor pricing, and deliveries.
  • Monitor food costs, recipes, portions, waste, and labor costs.
  • Oversee inventory, receiving, and stock rotation.
  • Build prep plans and production schedules around upcoming events.
  • Hire, schedule, train, and manage kitchen and prep staff.
  • Lead the Sous Chef and kitchen team.
  • Review menus, packages, pricing, and culinary event orders.
  • Coordinate tastings and support Sales and Event teams with menu planning.
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, permitting, and compliance standards.
  • Support culinary operations across multiple venues, catering brands, and food trucks.
  • Help manage culinary operations supporting approximately 500 events annually.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience leading kitchens as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
  • Strong experience with purchasing, food cost, labor cost, and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to build systems, processes, and standardized menu plans.
  • ServSafe Manager certification.
  • Highly organized and systems-minded.
  • Strong administrative and operational skills.
  • Comfortable managing a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen operation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

High-volume catering, banquet, off-premise catering, or wedding experience is valuable. Restaurant Executive Chefs with strong administrative and operational backgrounds will also be considered.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • IRA with company match
  • 12 days PTO

Why Join This Team

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a large-scale culinary operation supporting multiple venues, catering concepts, and events throughout the Philadelphia suburbs.

You’ll have a direct impact on purchasing, profitability, kitchen efficiency, staffing, menu planning, and operational structure while working alongside an experienced culinary team.

If you’re an organized Executive Chef who enjoys building systems and making a real operational impact, this role offers a chance to put your leadership and business-minded culinary skills to work.

Looking forward to your application!
