The opportunity

Our client is a privately owned, fast-growing medical device company with $40M in annual revenue. They're looking for a Senior Controller to take ownership of the finance function and grow into CFO. You'll work alongside a CFO-level consultant during a transition period, then take over their responsibilities, including cash flow projections and budgeting. It's a rare chance to build a finance department from the ground up.

What you'll do

▪️ Oversee accounting and finance, staying hands-on and close to the details

▪️ Lead the Finance department and provide financial strategy, partnering closely with the COO

▪️ Manage the Accountant and Senior Bookkeeper

▪️ Own the P&L and redesign financial systems and workflows

▪️ Build the company's first formal budget and lead forecasting

▪️ Build out FP&A capabilities

▪️ Take ownership of job costing and inventory accounting for the manufacturing operation, and oversee financials for the separate manufacturing entity that rolls up into the company

▪️ Coordinate with the CPA and tax providers, provide tax support, and serve as bank liaison

What you bring

✔️ Medical device industry experience - a MUST

✔️ 5+ years of controller-level experience

✔️ Strong leadership and a strategic financial mindset

✔️ Hands-on accounting expertise and a willingness to do the "gritty" work

✔️ Ability to build and improve processes and systems, and to lead budgeting and forecasting

✔️ Tech and IT savvy

✔️ A desire to grow with the organization
