Project Manager - Live Event Production

Our client is a rapidly growing, full-service live event production company that has been delivering innovative experiences for more than 30 years. The organization serves Fortune 500 companies, major associations, and national brands, providing end-to-end production services spanning staging and scenic design, lighting, audio, video, virtual and hybrid events, AI and immersive experiences, media production, trade show exhibits, and audience engagement technology. The company produces approximately 150 events annually, ranging from corporate meetings and conventions to trade shows, product launches, concerts, and road shows, with projects averaging approximately $100K and larger productions reaching $1M+. Operating as one integrated team across multiple markets, the company has experienced significant growth and is continuing to expand its operations and production capabilities. This position can be based in Las Vegas or Southern California and requires extensive travel, including attendance at every assigned show.

About the Role

Day-to-Day Duties: The Project Manager will own the technical and operational execution of assigned live events, partnering closely with Account Managers who maintain the client relationship. This is a highly hands-on role requiring someone who understands event technology and can manage a project from initial quote through final strike and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable moving between technical planning, equipment and labor coordination, client interaction, and hands-on onsite production leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Build and scope event quotes by translating client requirements into appropriate equipment, labor, technical services, and production requirements.
  • Manage projects from initial planning through post-event closeout, ensuring technical requirements, budgets, schedules, and deliverables remain on track.
  • Plan equipment, inventory, crew, and freelance labor requirements for each event.
  • Coordinate with logistics, warehouse personnel, technology teams, and freelance production crews to ensure all resources are available and properly scheduled.
  • Coordinate with venues regarding power, rigging, internet, loading access, and other technical requirements.
  • Develop detailed production timelines and schedules for load-in, setup, rehearsals, show execution, and strike.
  • Attend all assigned shows and serve as the primary technical and operational point of contact onsite.
  • Lead load-in, setup, show operations, and strike while managing crews and troubleshooting technical issues in real time.
  • Work directly with Account Managers and clients onsite to ensure the technical execution meets expectations.
  • Manage freelance labor and production crews while maintaining a professional, collaborative onsite environment.
  • Coordinate with the Technology, Labor, Logistics, and Operations teams throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Complete post-event equipment check-in, labor reconciliation, cost review, show recaps, and support final invoicing.
  • Utilize event-production technology and internal systems to manage inventory, labor, crew, and project information.

Required Skills

  • Must have professional experience within a live event production company
  • Strong technical production background, ideally having progressed from a hands-on technician role involving lighting, audio, video, staging, or related event technology.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the technical and operational aspects of events from quoting and pre-production through onsite execution and post-event closeout.
  • Experience developing equipment and labor requirements, building quotes, coordinating crews, and managing event logistics.
  • Ability to lead load-ins, setups, live event operations, and strikes while troubleshooting technical issues in real time.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to serve as the technical point person onsite.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events and competing deadlines simultaneously.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and attend all assigned shows is required.
  • Must be based in Las Vegas or Southern California and able to travel regularly for events nationwide.
  • Must be highly organized, technically confident, adaptable under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
