Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support large-scale power generation, energy infrastructure, and heavy industrial construction projects in the Abilene, TX area. This is a field-driven role offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents on high-profile infrastructure projects.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Create, submit, and track RFIs and change orders.
- Identify and capture out-of-scope work opportunities.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field activities.
- Monitor project progress against schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and project sequencing.
- Track project costs, changes, and budget impacts.
- Assist with forecasting and progress reporting.
- Participate in project meetings and proactively identify risks and solutions.
- Coordinate civil, electrical, and mechanical project teams.
- Assist with progress billings and invoice approvals.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings.
- Experience creating and managing RFIs and change orders.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and field operations.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, milestones, and critical path concepts.
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Experience with cost tracking and project progress reporting.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $105,000/year
