Quality Control Manager (QCM)

Traveling Opportunity | Project-Based Role | Federal Construction

Based on the current project in Laredo, TX, this role will transition to future projects across the United States upon completion.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead project quality control activities from construction through closeout
  • Perform preparatory, initial, and final inspections of work activities
  • Oversee material deliveries, installations, and testing processes
  • Review and manage construction submittals for specification compliance
  • Track and document quality control metrics and inspection results
  • Coordinate materials testing, commissioning, and building system verification
  • Maintain as-built documentation and punch list completion
  • Conduct daily site inspections and prepare detailed reports
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, project management teams, and client representatives
  • Resolve quality concerns proactively and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain strong client relationships
  • Serve as a visible field presence to ensure quality standards are consistently maintained

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience serving as a Quality Control Manager on federal construction projects
  • USACE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of three-phase quality control inspections
  • Experience with submittal review, materials testing, commissioning, and project closeout
  • Ability to manage quality documentation and reporting requirements
  • Comfortable working directly with government representatives and project stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and solution-oriented mindset
  • Active field leadership style rather than a purely administrative approach

Required Qualifications:

  • Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related degree OR Significant Quality Control Manager experience on federal/USACE projects
  • USACE Quality Control Management Certification
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Ability and willingness to travel for future project assignments nationwide

Compensation & Travel Package:

  • $130,000 - $140,000 base salary - depending on experience
  • Up to 15% project completion bonus
  • Travel Benefits: Monthly housing allowance and per diem provided for project assignments
