HR Manager – Remote

Remote | Full-Time | CA & AZ Laws | $100,000 Base Salary

We’re seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the HR function for a growing, multi-state organization in the facilities maintenance and construction services industry.

This is a remote, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being the go-to HR resource for both employees and leadership. You’ll manage the full spectrum of HR, from employee relations and compliance to payroll, benefits, recruiting, and talent strategy, while helping build processes that can scale as the organization continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and leadership
• Manage recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and employee training
• Process semi-monthly payroll and oversee benefits administration
• Manage PTO, sick leave, leaves of absence, garnishments, and employee records
• Advise managers on employee relations, coaching, disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations
• Maintain compliance with California, Arizona, and federal employment laws, with the ability to support additional states as the company expands
• Partner with leadership on retention, succession planning, compensation, and overall talent strategy
• Review and develop HR policies, procedures, and best practices
• Create an approachable HR environment where employees feel comfortable seeking guidance and support

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of HR experience
• Strong working knowledge of California and Arizona employment laws
• Hands-on experience with payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR compliance
• Ability to independently manage an HR function and take ownership without requiring significant day-to-day direction
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and confidentiality
• Comfortable working closely with employees and leadership in a remote environment
• Experience with Zenefits is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• $100,000 base salary
