Construction Manager (Interior)

Our client is a growing, owner-led residential design-build remodeling company serving Bucks and Montgomery Counties, PA, and surrounding communities. The company specializes in whole-home renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, first-floor remodels, and additions, providing clients with a collaborative process from initial design through construction and completion. With a strong reputation for communication, quality workmanship, jobsite accountability, and doing things right the first time, the company is experiencing significant growth and is seeking an experienced construction leader to help strengthen its production operation. This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team and play a key role in building the infrastructure and field leadership needed to support continued growth.

About the Role

Oversee residential interior remodeling projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring projects are properly planned, staffed, scheduled, and executed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and accountability to Project Managers, field carpenters, and multiple crews working across active jobsites.
  • Monitor approximately 12–13 open projects, with 6–8 projects actively progressing on a daily basis.
  • Conduct jobsite visits approximately 1–2 times per week, adjusting frequency based on the level of support and oversight required by each crew.
  • Review project setup, dimensions, scope, materials, and estimating details before projects move into production.
  • Support Project Consultants and company leadership with construction estimating and help identify potential scope, dimensional, or production issues before they reach the field.
  • Spend approximately five hours per week supporting estimating activities while maintaining primary responsibility for production operations.
  • Ensure projects are properly "teed up" before crews begin work and that all necessary materials, information, and resources are in place.
  • Maintain consistent quality-control standards across multiple projects and ensure work is completed correctly and according to company expectations.
  • Identify and correct issues upstream while allowing Project Managers and consultants to maintain ownership of their respective projects.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to the field team, helping develop employees and strengthen the company's construction capabilities.
  • Hold team members and subcontractors accountable for schedules, workmanship, communication, cleanliness, and overall jobsite performance.
  • Help establish processes and standards that allow the company to scale its production operation effectively.
  • Utilize JobTread to track and manage project information, workflows, and production activities.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive construction experience, ideally with a background that began in the field and progressed into leadership and management.
  • 3+ years of meaningful construction leadership experience overseeing multiple employees, crews, or projects; experience managing only one or two individuals will not be sufficient.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex residential construction or remodeling projects.
  • Construction estimating experience with the ability to identify dimensional, scope, material, and production issues before projects reach the field.
  • Broad construction knowledge across multiple trades and scopes; candidates with only a single-trade background will not be considered.
  • Experience with residential remodeling is strongly preferred, although candidates from a GC, owner's representative, or subcontractor background may be considered if they have sufficiently broad construction experience.
  • Proven ability to oversee field personnel, establish accountability, maintain quality standards, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgets, scope, materials, and construction workflows.
  • Leadership style that emphasizes guidance, mentoring, accountability, and developing people rather than simply performing the work personally.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively with ownership, project managers, consultants, field personnel, and clients.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-growing environment where priorities can change and leadership is expected to take initiative.
  • Technologically proficient and comfortable learning and utilizing construction management software; JobTread experience is a plus.
  • Commercial construction experience in addition to residential is a plus.
  • Degree is not required.
