Tube Laser Operator – 1st Shift

Pay: $21–$27/hour

Schedule: 1st Shift | Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A well-established, third-generation family-owned precision manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Tube Laser Operator to join its Rochester-area team.

This is a hands-on position for someone who understands that successful laser operation goes beyond simply loading material and pushing a button. You’ll be responsible for machine setup, first-piece production, inspection approval, and running production while maintaining quality and efficiency.

The company operates a highly integrated manufacturing environment serving industries such as medical, automotive, telecommunications, electronics, transportation, and other specialized markets.

What You’ll Do

• Operate tube laser equipment in a production environment.
• Set up machines and prepare jobs for production.
• Complete first-piece setups and obtain inspection approval.
• Run production according to job requirements and specifications.
• Work closely with the CNC programming team, which provides machine programs.
• Adjust between setup and production responsibilities depending on the job.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
• Help train new associates once fully established in the role.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous tube laser operating experience.
• Strong setup and first-piece experience.
• Experience working in precision manufacturing, sheet metal, or a similar production environment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
• Reliable and consistent work history.
• Willingness to work overtime or occasional weekends based on business needs.

A Plus

• BLM tube laser experience
• Flat laser experience
• Plex experience
• Additional precision sheet metal fabrication experience

No programming experience is required. Machine programming is handled separately, allowing the operator to focus on setup, first-piece approval, and production.

Compensation & Benefits

• $21–$27/hour
