About the Opportunity

A well-established, privately owned electrical subcontractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join its growing estimating team. This is an opportunity to work on substantial commercial electrical projects while taking ownership of the estimating process from plan review and takeoffs through final bid submission. The typical bid is approximately $2M–$4M, with larger opportunities reaching well beyond that range. The company focuses on private, non-prevailing-wage commercial electrical work and has a strong base of repeat clients and long-term relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare detailed estimates and electrical takeoffs for commercial projects
  • Manage multiple bids simultaneously at various stages of development
  • Review electrical plans, including lighting, power, panels, risers, and one-lines
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to coordinate project scope
  • Review specifications, addenda, RFIs, and drawing revisions
  • Identify scope gaps and coordinate with general contractors regarding pricing and revisions
  • Develop accurate labor and material pricing
  • Ensure complete scope coverage and competitive bids
  • Work within tight bid-submission deadlines
  • Collaborate with the estimating team and other project stakeholders
  • Participate in occasional local job walks

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience with commercial electrical estimating required
  • Strong commercial electrical construction background
  • Excellent plan-reading abilities
  • Experience with electrical takeoffs and detailed estimating
  • Ability to read lighting, power, panel, riser, and one-line drawings
  • Experience interpreting architectural and structural drawings
  • Strong understanding of specifications, addenda, RFIs, and revisions
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
  • Experience with Accubid and Bluebeam
  • Strong understanding of labor and material pricing
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Junior-level estimators with strong relevant experience may also be considered

What You'll Work On

The estimating team handles significant commercial electrical opportunities, with an expected workload of approximately $125M per estimator annually. Projects are typically in the $2M–$4M range, with opportunities to estimate substantially larger projects as well.

This role is ideal for an estimator who enjoys a fast-paced environment, is highly analytical, and takes pride in producing accurate, well-supported bids.

Compensation & Benefits

  • up to $180,000 base salary DOE
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity, historically 10–15%
  • HMO healthcare with 100% employee coverage
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 2 weeks PTO annually
  • 7 paid holidays
  • Vehicle reimbursement for occasional job-site travel

Why Join This Team

This is a chance to have a direct impact on the work the company wins and the profitability of those projects. Your estimates will play a meaningful role in shaping the company's growth, and you'll have the opportunity to work on substantial commercial projects rather than routine, low-complexity bids.

You'll also be joining an experienced estimating team where your expertise is valued and where accuracy, accountability, and collaboration matter. If you're an estimator who wants meaningful ownership, challenging commercial work, and the opportunity to contribute directly to a growing organization, this could be an excellent next step.
