About the Firm

My client is a high-end custom residential architecture firm based in West LA, with over 30 years in business. Architecture and landscape design are practiced hand in hand here — not in sequence — and they are looking for a Landscape Architect who wants to be a true design partner across indoor and outdoor space.

Day-to-Day Duties

  • Full project involvement, from site plans and master landscape design through construction documents
  • Both design-forward and production-forward candidates are welcome — we shape the role around your strengths and pair you with colleagues who complement your gaps. Strong design skill is valued; strong project administration and management is valued equally.
  • Highly collaborative studio process — even interns sit at the table in design meetings. There is no back-room drafting hierarchy here.
  • Client exposure at every level. Under 5 years of experience, exposure is participatory; more experienced hires serve as the primary point of contact and run projects directly with clients.
  • Site visits are a regular part of the role. Overnight travel is limited to international projects, which the team generally looks forward to.
  • Project load scales with experience: 1–5 years of experience typically carries 1–3 projects; 10+ years may carry 5 or more, with a team underneath them.
  • Typical project size ranges from $3M–$5M, and can run considerably higher.

Must Haves

  • Open to candidates with 1–5 years of experience or 10+ years of experience
  • Residential design experience- REQUIRED
  • Techy savvy and progressive mindset
  • Degree in landscape architecture preferred; home-grown backgrounds are acceptable
  • Able to work within a BIM environment and manage files and collaboration digitally
  • Proficiency in Archicad (Graphisoft), or a Revit background with willingness to transition (in-house training provided)
