About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineering Manager to join an established manufacturer of commercial refrigeration and cold-storage equipment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings strong technical experience in commercial refrigeration design along with the ability to lead and develop an engineering team.
You’ll oversee engineering projects, support new and custom product development, partner closely with manufacturing and R&D, and help drive the future direction of the engineering department.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and support the refrigeration engineering team
- Oversee the design and development of commercial refrigeration systems and equipment
- Manage engineering projects, priorities, and technical deliverables
- Support new product development and custom refrigeration solutions
- Partner closely with manufacturing, operations, and R&D on production and product challenges
- Review engineering designs and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Ensure products and designs comply with current EPA regulations and refrigeration codes
- Stay current on changing refrigerants, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Coach and mentor engineering team members and help develop future leaders
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, efficiency, and overall product development
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of refrigeration engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering leadership or management experience
- Strong hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration design
- Experience with refrigeration product development and engineering troubleshooting
- Background supporting a manufacturing or production environment
- Working knowledge of current EPA refrigeration regulations and refrigerant requirements
- AutoCAD experience
- Strong technical leadership and project management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Nice to Have:
- Experience designing and manufacturing commercial refrigeration
- Walk-in cooler/freezer or cold-storage equipment experience
- Foodservice or restaurant refrigeration experience
- Research & Development/new product development experience
- Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of UL, NSF, DOE, and/or ASHRAE standards

This role requires commercial refrigeration engineering experience. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily residential HVAC or general industrial engineering without refrigeration product design experience will not be a fit.
