Engineering Manager

Location: San Jose, CA

Compensation: $175,000–$195,000

Schedule: 100% Onsite

Our client is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting the development and production of complex manufactured products in a highly regulated environment.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced technical leader who enjoys mentoring teams, solving problems, and remaining actively involved in engineering and manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and has experience leading products through the full lifecycle—from concept and development through production and sustaining support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Drive product development efforts from concept through production.
  • Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and production ramp initiatives.
  • Support technical problem solving, design reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams.
  • Establish project schedules, priorities, and resource plans.
  • Manage engineering activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and external partners to support successful project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with at least 3+ years of it within a leadership or management role within an aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leading complex hardware product development in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, manufacturing processes, and engineering best practices.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship/Permanent resident is required (ITAR)
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, electronics, or electromechanical products.
  • Experience with quality standards, compliance requirements, and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Experience managing teams across 2 CA locations.
