About the Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing civil engineering team specializing in commercial land development projects across the Western United States. What You'll Do
- Design grading, drainage, and utility improvements for commercial land development projects.
- Prepare permit and entitlement-level plan sets using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Develop grading plans, utility plans, street improvements, wall plans and profiles, hydrology studies, and stormwater quality documentation.
- Coordinate with internal design teams, clients, consultants, and local agencies throughout each project's lifecycle.
- Produce engineering designs that are ready for drafting and construction documentation.
- Manage multiple active projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.
- Help solve site-specific engineering challenges across numerous jurisdictions with varying design requirements.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in private-sector land development engineering.
- Strong background in grading, drainage, and utility design.
- Experience designing commercial site development projects.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with retail, restaurant, or quick-service restaurant (QSR) developments.
- Knowledge of stormwater management, NPDES, LID, or water quality requirements.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
- Experience working across multiple municipalities or jurisdictions.

Ideal Background
This position is best suited for engineers with experience in private commercial land development. Candidates with backgrounds in retail, restaurant, mixed-use, shopping center, or similar commercial site development will be especially successful. Individuals whose experience is exclusively in municipal/public works or plan checking are unlikely to be a fit for this opportunity
