Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations of a structural steel fabrication shop from raw material through finished product
• Drive production schedules, manpower planning, and workflow optimization
• Supervise and mentor welders and fabricators
• Interpret drawings and ensure accurate fabrication execution
• Ensure all fabricated steel meets quality, safety, and specification requirements
• Troubleshoot fabrication and welding challenges on the shop floor
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve production issues
• Coordinate equipment utilization including cranes, forklifts, cutters, and press brakes
• Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships when needed

• Structural steel fabrication shop environment
• Hands-on leadership role with direct involvement in production operations
• Team-oriented culture working alongside skilled welders and fabricators
• Fast-paced setting requiring strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on welding experience
• 3-5+ years managing fabrication shop personnel
• Experience running a structural steel or fabrication shop
• Strong understanding of welding processes and fabrication techniques
• Ability to read drawings and translate designs into production execution
• Proven leadership and workforce management skills
• Spanish bilingual skills highly preferred due to shop workforce makeup
