NICET Level III Fire Sprinkler Designer

A growing fire protection contractor serving the Southeast is seeking a NICET Level III Fire Sprinkler Designer to join its design and engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, and educational projects while collaborating closely with engineering, fabrication, project management, and field operations teams.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing multiple projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, and seeing projects through from design to installation.
Responsibilities:
- Design fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems for commercial and industrial facilities
- Develop layouts and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, SprinkCAD, and related design software
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and sprinkler coverage analysis
- Coordinate projects through BIM and 3D modeling platforms
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and AHJ requirements
- Review construction documents and create shop drawings for installation teams
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects, and field personnel throughout project execution
- Conduct occasional site visits to support project coordination and field verification
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy
Qualifications:
- NICET Level III certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience designing fire sprinkler systems for commercial or industrial projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and sprinkler design software such as HydraCAD or SprinkCAD
- Strong understanding of NFPA standards and fire protection codes
- Experience performing hydraulic calculations and system layouts
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- BIM and 3D coordination experience
- Background working on large commercial, institutional, healthcare, or industrial projects
