Commercial Lines Producer Opportunity

Position Overview & Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on growing a commercial lines book of business within the assigned territory
  • Prospect for new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, community involvement, and relationship-building activities
  • Leverage agency-provided lead opportunities, cross-selling initiatives, and marketing resources to generate new client relationships
  • Meet with business owners and decision-makers to assess insurance needs and develop customized coverage solutions
  • Prepare and submit applications while ensuring all information is accurate and complete
  • Collaborate with account managers, carriers, and underwriting partners to develop competitive proposals and insurance programs
  • Present insurance solutions, negotiate terms, and successfully close new business opportunities
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the sales process and assist with renewal discussions when appropriate
  • Document sales activities, prospect interactions, pipeline progress, and account information within the agency's CRM system
  • Participate in regular team meetings, training programs, and professional development opportunities
  • Complete a structured training and onboarding program designed to support long-term success and production growth

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of commercial insurance sales experience
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license required
  • Demonstrated success generating new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and referral development
  • Proven hunter mentality with the ability to build a book of business through proactive business development efforts
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working directly with business owners and commercial insurance clients
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline, prioritize opportunities, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented professional with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with agency staff and carrier partners
  • Professional designations such as CIC or CPCU are preferred; candidates without these credentials should be willing to pursue them with company support
  • Experience within industries such as construction, habitational real estate, restaurants, healthcare services, or related commercial sectors is a plus
  • Stable employment history demonstrating commitment, consistency, and long-term relationship-building
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
