Vice President of Rendering Operations

A well-established, privately held industrial services company is looking for a hands-on Vice President of Rendering Operations to oversee multi-site plant operations across Alabama. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, fleet management, environmental compliance, safety, team leadership, and overall plant efficiency across a rendering plant and two oil recovery/recycling facilities.

This role is ideal for someone coming from the rendering, animal by-product processing, protein/fats production, waste management, food processing, or other logistics-heavy industrial manufacturing environments who thrives in a relationship-driven, operational leadership position.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Oversee daily operations across multiple processing and recycling facilities
• Lead plant leadership teams, transportation managers, and operational staff
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and process improvements
• Manage fleet operations with a strong focus on safety and cost control
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP, and related regulations
• Review operational and financial performance metrics regularly
• Partner closely with executive leadership on company initiatives and long-term planning
• Build strong internal relationships and foster a team-oriented culture
• Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development efforts
• Support customer retention and operational growth initiatives
• Serve as the bridge between executive leadership and operations teams

What They’re Looking For

• 5+ years of leadership experience within rendering, industrial processing, fleet-heavy operations, or related industries
• Strong multi-site plant operations experience
• Background leading large operational teams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience managing compliance, safety, logistics, and operational performance
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable being hands-on while also operating strategically
• Experience within rendering or animal by-product processing is highly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary targeting approximately $185K–$205K
• Bonus based on company and individual performance
