Senior Accountant

📍 Clinton Township, MI (Onsite)

💰 $90,000–$110,000 base salary DOE + potential bonus

A privately owned and operated construction company with approximately $55M in annual revenue is seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team onsite in Clinton Township, MI. This is a hands-on role supporting multiple active construction projects while partnering closely with leadership on day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience, a deep understanding of project accounting, and advanced knowledge of Sage Contractor 100.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee WIP reporting and project accounting functions
• Support month-end close and financial reporting deadlines
• Manage AP/AR timelines tied to active construction projects
• Oversee project billing cycles and pay applications
• Perform cash flow analysis and fund transfers
• Review bi-weekly payroll processing
• Partner with accounting/data entry staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Monitor and maintain financial integrity of data entered into Sage
• Ensure project financial data is entered and exported correctly
• Track and manage 10–20 active construction projects simultaneously
• Support projects ranging from $500K–$30M and timelines from 3 months to 2+ years
• Utilize Procore and Sage Contractor 100 daily
• Collaborate closely with company leadership on accounting operations and reporting

What They’re Looking For

• 5–7+ years of accounting experience required
• Construction industry experience REQUIRED
• Sage Contractor 100 experience REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED
• Strong understanding of project accounting and WIP reporting
• Experience managing multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
