Construction Project Coordinator (Southern California)

Commercial Construction | Hospitality & Retail Projects

A growing construction/project management consulting firm is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support commercial hospitality and retail projects across the U.S. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong construction coordination experience who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and wants broader exposure across procurement, vendor coordination, scheduling support, and project operations.

This role works closely with Project Managers, vendors, consultants, subcontractors, and clients to help keep projects organized, moving on schedule, and running efficiently from early planning through construction closeout.

Location

  • Primarily remote role
  • Preference for candidates located in Southern California
  • Occasional travel expected (typically 1–2 trips per month for site visits, project support, or grand openings)
  • Periodic in-person collaboration as needed

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple active commercial construction projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate procurement activities, vendor communication, and material tracking
  • Help manage project schedules, deliveries, and construction timelines
  • Track purchase orders, change orders, project documentation, and vendor updates
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and turnover coordination
  • Maintain organized project files and reporting within Procore and related systems
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify scheduling or coordination issues
  • Support construction operations across hospitality, restaurant, retail, and commercial projects

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project coordination, project engineering, assistant project management, or similar construction support roles
  • Experience working for a General Contractor, Owner’s Representative, Construction Management firm, or similar environment
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows, scheduling, and vendor coordination
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, ERP systems, or construction management software

Preferred

  • Hospitality, restaurant, retail, or tenant improvement (TI) project experience
  • Procurement or vendor coordination experience
  • FF&E coordination experience
  • Experience in fast-paced or small-team environments
