A growing project management and development consulting firm is seeking a Project Controls & Procurement Manager to support hospitality and retail construction projects across the U.S. This role is ideal for someone who understands how procurement, vendor coordination, construction schedules, and project execution all connect together in a fast-moving commercial construction environment.
This position will play a key role in coordinating FF&E procurement, managing vendor timelines, tracking deliveries, supporting construction schedules, and helping improve internal project management processes as the company continues to scale.
The company operates with a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where team members wear multiple hats and contribute across the full project lifecycle. Projects range from early due diligence and planning through construction closeout, primarily within the hospitality and retail sectors.
Location
- Mostly remote role
- Preference for candidates based in Southern California or Texas
- Occasional travel expected (approximately 1–2 trips per month for site escalations, grand openings, or project support)
- Southern California candidates preferred for periodic in-office collaboration during onboarding/ramp-up
Key Responsibilities
- Manage FF&E procurement activities across multiple commercial construction projects
- Coordinate vendor ordering, lead times, logistics, deliveries, and site access
- Align procurement schedules with overall construction timelines and milestones
- Work closely with project managers, construction managers, vendors, consultants, and clients
- Proactively identify schedule risks or procurement delays before they impact projects
- Track and maintain procurement schedules using Procore, Smartsheet, and related scheduling tools
- Assist in implementing and improving internal project tracking and workflow processes
- Support communication with hospitality and retail clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Help drive organization and visibility across active project pipelines
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction coordination, procurement, project controls, or related project management support roles
- Experience working for a GC, owner’s representative, construction management consultant, or similar commercial construction environment
- Strong understanding of construction schedules, procurement timelines, and vendor coordination
- Experience with ERP systems, Smartsheet, or scheduling software
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
Preferred
- Procore experience (Project Management and/or Financial modules)
- Hospitality or restaurant project experience
- FF&E procurement experience
- Experience supporting multi-site rollout programs
