Director of Operations – Oil & Gas Construction - Lafayette Parish
- Onsite leadership role with travel (app 10–12 overnights p/month) across multiple states
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance provided
- $200-260k + Bonus
Growing industrial construction organization is seeking a senior operational leader to oversee a large-scale Oil & Gas/Pipeline division supporting pipeline, midstream, facilities, integrity, maintenance, and power generation projects across multiple states.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee operations across pipeline, midstream, and power generation construction projects
- Lead multiple departments including Project Management, Estimating, Cost Controls, Scheduling, Safety, and Hydrotest
- Manage approximately 12 active projects simultaneously across varying phases and durations
- Review bid opportunities and determine operational fit, staffing capacity, scheduling, and profitability
- Partner closely with sales teams regarding upcoming work and project pipeline planning
- Drive accountability, communication, and execution across teams
- Ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations
- Reallocate personnel and resources to keep projects progressing efficiently
- Maintain and grow client relationships across active and future projects
- Lead operational meetings and coordinate communication between leadership, field teams, and clients
- Monitor metrics tied to budgets, deliverables, timelines, safety, and operational performance
- Mentor senior managers and help scale operational structure as the company continues to grow
What They’re Looking For
- 10–15+ years of experience within Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Midstream Construction
- Proven experience leading operations at a Director, VP, Division Manager, or senior operational leadership level
- Strong understanding of:
- Pipeline construction
- Midstream operations
- Project management oversight
- Estimating and cost controls
- Scheduling and resource planning
- Client-facing operations
- Experience managing multiple departments and large operational teams
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving environment with constantly shifting priorities
- Hands-on leadership style with strong communication and accountability
- Must be comfortable working closely with field operations and executive leadership
