Construction Estimator

Location: Watertown, NY (100% onsite or site visits)

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their team in Watertown, NY. This role will support commercial, municipal, and federal construction projects ranging from $100K to $7M across New York State.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on estimator who enjoys working independently, collaborating closely with project teams, and contributing to a growing organization with a strong pipeline of work.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Develop accurate labor, material, and equipment estimates
• Prepare competitive bids for design/build and plan/spec projects
• Write detailed subcontractor scopes of work
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Collaborate with project managers and leadership during preconstruction
• Interpret engineering drawings and identify value engineering opportunities
• Track multiple bids, deadlines, and estimating priorities simultaneously
• Maintain historical pricing databases and estimating tools
• Support project turnover and handoff after award

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial and/or government construction estimating experience
• Design-build construction experience required
• Strong understanding of all construction divisions
• Ability to independently prepare complete estimates and scopes
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Engineering background preferred
• Experience with Sage Timberline, Primavera, and Bluebeam preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• $90,000–$120,000 base salary
