Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Location: Watertown, NY (100% onsite)
A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial, municipal, and government construction projects throughout New York State and the Northeast. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing projects from start to finish, and wants the opportunity to make a visible impact within a tight-knit team.
Projects range from $100K to $7M and include a mix of ground-up and renovation work across schools, municipal buildings, and commercial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and budgets
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Review drawings, contracts, specifications, and scopes of work
- Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Lead project meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders
- Monitor project costs, forecasting, and financial performance
- Conduct site visits and oversee quality, safety, and schedule adherence
- Identify project risks and implement solutions proactively
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction project management experience
- Experience managing commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience with Sage Timberline, Primavera, and/or Bluebeam preferred
- Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, but field-grown experience is highly valued
Compensation & Benefits
- up to $100,000 base salary
