Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Location: Watertown, NY (100% onsite)

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial, municipal, and government construction projects throughout New York State and the Northeast. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing projects from start to finish, and wants the opportunity to make a visible impact within a tight-knit team.

Projects range from $100K to $7M and include a mix of ground-up and renovation work across schools, municipal buildings, and commercial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and budgets
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Review drawings, contracts, specifications, and scopes of work
• Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Lead project meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders
• Monitor project costs, forecasting, and financial performance
• Conduct site visits and oversee quality, safety, and schedule adherence
• Identify project risks and implement solutions proactively

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction project management experience
• Experience managing commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Experience with Sage Timberline, Primavera, and/or Bluebeam preferred
• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, but field-grown experience is highly valued
