Sales/Estimator – Commercial Asphalt & Concrete
Location: Remote with regular site visits throughout Maryland
Compensation: up to $125,000 base + performance bonus
Position Overview
The Sales Estimator will prepare accurate bids, develop client relationships, and manage projects from initial site evaluation through proposal. This position works primarily with commercial properties, HOA and condo associations, retail centers, churches, and select government clients. The role is remote-based within Maryland and requires regular site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt, concrete, and paving rehabilitation projects
- Evaluate site conditions, grades, slopes, milling requirements, and drainage needs
- Collaborate with property managers and commercial clients on repair and rehab projects
- Manage select new construction opportunities with established client relationships
- Participate in company software implementation and process improvements
- Generate and develop new business opportunities
- Work independently after an structured onboarding period
- Coordinate with internal teams and administrative support to complete takeoffs and proposals
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in asphalt or concrete estimating, preferably in commercial or municipal paving
- Strong background in paving rehabilitation projects
- Hands-on field experience in paving; foreman or lead crew experience preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of milling, grading, and drainage principles
- Experience estimating and selling asphalt and concrete work
- Established relationships with local contractors, owners, or property managers in Maryland
- Ability to work independently and manage client relationships
