A well-established, family-owned and operated construction company in Salem, NH is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to take full ownership of the company’s financial operations. This is a high-impact, team-of-one role where you will serve as the go-to financial leader, partnering directly with ownership and bringing structure, visibility, and accountability to the accounting function.

💼 What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and monitor project profit margins
  • Prepare and run financial reports for ownership
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Manage AIA billing, cost accounting, and WIP reporting
  • Oversee the general ledger and full accounting cycle
  • Ensure financial accuracy and reporting integrity
  • Own and improve financial processes and controls
  • Work directly with external accountants
  • Oversee the RFMS system

✅ What You Bring

  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Controller-level background
  • Strong financial reporting and oversight skills
  • Experience with construction accounting, including AIA billing and WIP
  • Comfortable operating independently in a small, family-run environment
  • Teachable, adaptable, and solutions-oriented
  • A “controller mindset” with ownership mentality
