Electrical Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join a national construction company specializing in automation systems, including LARGE scale industrial conveyor belt systems for clients such as UPS, FedEx, and federal projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects nationwide up to $40M+.

Location: Remote with some travel

  • Initial 12–24 months may require frequent site visits for pre-project reviews and complex projects
  • Ongoing occasional travel as needed ~15% per year (a few times a month)

Salary: up to $150,000, depending on experience with mechanical systems and industrial equipment

Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus

Position Overview:

The Electrical Estimator will focus on estimating both electrical and mechanical work for private sector projects. This role involves producing detailed takeoffs, bids, and quotes for multiple projects simultaneously, working collaboratively with engineering, field teams, and project managers to ensure accurate and timely proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate electrical and mechanical scopes for automation and conveyor system projects
  • Handle 3–5 projects at a time, producing approximately 5 quotes per week
  • Perform detailed takeoffs and cost analysis
  • Conduct pre-site visits to identify potential challenges and constraints
  • Manage projects nationwide, with occasional overnight travel
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and field teams to ensure accurate proposals

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience including mechanization and installation of large scale industrial automation and material handling conveyor system projects
  • Experience with switchgear installation, sub-panels, and machinery
  • Strong knowledge of millwright labor and industrial equipment
  • Ability to take a set of plans and execute independently
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management software
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
