Job Title: Industrial Piping Estimator

Location: Can work remotely or work out of the Virginia Beach office

Pay rate: $75,000–$90,000 base + discretionary annual bonus

Overview

Join a long-established & privately owned industrial HVAC & MEP Contractor and help build their new industrial piping division. You’ll price complex industrial piping and ammonia refrigeration projects that keep critical facilities running.

Job Functions:

• Generate an average of 2 estimates per week for industrial piping & ammonia refrigeration projects producing accurate, timely takeoffs and pricing.
• Translate drawings into scope: review plans, visualize the full job, and quantify piping/refrigeration materials and labor.
• Partner across the ecosystem: meet face‑to‑face with clients; coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to build complete, documented scopes.
• Drive the pipeline: maintain steady quote volume (~4 active projects/month) and communicate progress to keep workloads balanced and the division growing.
• Collaborate, then hand off: create estimates and support proposals; sales owns the final presentation and post‑bid follow‑up.
• Utilize: Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint (daily); AutoCAD, Procore

Compensation & Perks

• Compensation: $75,000–$90,000 base + annual discretionary bonus (typically $10,000+)
• Schedule & Work Style: 40–50 hours/week; onsite in the Greater Norfolk–Virginia Beach area or work from a home office. Relocation not required.

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of estimating experience in industrial piping and/or industrial refrigeration.
• Proven ability to quote pipe and industrial scopes confidently and accurately.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints and visualize full scope from drawings.
• Knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration (system design & estimation principles).
• Strong organization across multiple concurrent estimates with competing priorities.
• Excellent client‑facing communication (verbal, written, and presentation).
