We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to support the growth of a new Industrial Piping division. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role overseeing complex industrial change-outs, retrofits, and installations across the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast regions.

This position offers a predictable 1 week on / 1 week off rotation, providing true work-life balance while leading high-impact industrial projects.

Position Overview

The Traveling Superintendent will lead field operations, supervise crews, ensure safety and quality compliance, manage schedules and manpower, and drive cost control initiatives. This role requires strong field leadership, accountability, and the ability to help establish structure within a growing division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of trade and craft workers
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and job orders
  • Review and release shop and spool drawings
  • Monitor manpower, tools, materials, and inventory
  • Review weekly cost reports and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Enforce safety standards, conduct audits, and hold teams accountable
  • Coach, train, and mentor field personnel to promote safe and productive work

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of experience as a Superintendent or Project Manager
  • Strong background in industrial construction, industrial piping, heavy mechanical, or MEP environments
  • Proven ability to lead field crews, manage schedules, and control project costs
  • Strong understanding of safety compliance and field operations
  • Willingness to travel on a rotational schedule
  • College degree not required (preferred but not mandatory)

Compensation & Schedule

  • Total comp: up to $220k/year
  • Leadership bonus: 25% of documented cost savings generated
  • Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week off
  • Typical work schedule during on-rotation: 6 days per week, 10-hour shifts
