Grants & Development Manager – Non-Profit | Remote (U.S.)

Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000

About the Role

We are seeking a mission-driven Grants & Development Manager to lead fundraising efforts for a growing national nonprofit organization. This is a highly autonomous role responsible for building a development program from the ground up, including grant strategy, donor cultivation, corporate partnerships, and event fundraising.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and relationship builder who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is excited about creating systems, momentum, and long-term sustainability where no existing donor pool currently exists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive national fundraising strategy
  • Research, write, and submit foundation, corporate, state, and federal grant proposals
  • Manage all aspects of the grant lifecycle, including reporting, compliance, and impact tracking
  • Build and cultivate a new donor base and corporate sponsorship pipeline
  • Support and grow fundraising initiatives and signature events
  • Partner closely with executive leadership on development strategy and stewardship
  • Activate and support an Ambassador fundraising program
  • Maintain accurate fundraising pipelines, dashboards, and performance reports
  • Steward donor relationships through renewals, communications, and major gift cultivation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3–5+ years of fundraising or grants experience
  • Demonstrated success in grant research, writing, and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Experience developing donor relationships and fundraising strategy

Preferred but not required:

  • Nonprofit sector experience
  • Experience building development programs from the ground up
  • Familiarity with grant research tools (e.g., GrantWatch or similar)
  • Stable work history with progressive responsibility
