Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
A nonprofit organization is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Social Worker to join our care team at our substance abuse treatment site in New York, NY. The LSW will play a key role in supporting clients who live onsite and are actively working toward recovery in their inpatient facility. This position is ideal for someone who is mission-driven, empathetic, and committed to providing high-quality behavioral health services to vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and clinical interviews to evaluate client needs.
- Provide individual and group therapy for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that promote recovery and stability.
- Make recommendations for care, including referrals to appropriate internal and external services such as housing, vocational training, or medical support.
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure integrated treatment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and state regulations.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary and help connect clients to emergency services.
- Support clients in developing coping strategies, relapse prevention skills, and recovery-oriented goals.
Patient Population:
- Adults living onsite in a substance abuse recovery program.
- Clients may present with co-occurring mental health disorders, trauma histories, and complex social service needs.
Qualifications:
- Active New York State LSCW license required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in substance abuse, behavioral health, or related settings.
- Strong clinical assessment, therapy, and case management skills.
- Knowledge of community resources and referral networks in NYC.
- Commitment to serving diverse, underserved populations.
