Core Leadership Duties
- Guide and support nursing leadership, ensuring staff are well-trained, competent, and able to provide high-quality care.
- Oversee the evaluation and improvement of health programs, making sure they meet the needs of individuals served.
- Lead initiatives that promote safety, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a key point of contact for clinical decision-making and emergency situations.
Clinical Operations
- Assess suitability of new admissions and coordinate continuity of care through transitions.
- Implement health and safety programs (e.g., fall prevention, infection control, swallowing assessments).
- Facilitate connections to community-based health services when additional care is needed.
- Ensure medical records, treatment plans, and care procedures are accurate and up to date.
Staff & Team Development
- Recruit, onboard, and develop nursing staff at all levels.
- Provide education, training, and mentorship for both professional and non-professional staff.
- Support staff participation in individualized care planning and health-related programs.
Collaboration & Committees
- Partner with physicians, therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and other health professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Participate in internal committees focused on infection control, medication review, and human rights considerations.
- Maintain relationships with external health agencies to strengthen care services.
Administrative & Oversight Responsibilities
- Monitor trends in incidents, accidents, and medication errors, and use data to drive improvement.
- Contribute to updating manuals, policies, and contracts related to healthcare delivery.
- Review and address concerns or grievances within the clinical team.
