As the company expands, they are seeking a strategic, experienced Controller to play a key leadership role in driving financial strategy and operational support across the business.

🎯 About the Role

This is not just a traditional accounting role—this is a strategic leadership opportunity. As Controller, you will be a core member of the executive team, directly supporting the President and working cross-functionally with operations, HR, and store leadership.

You’ll lead all financial operations while influencing company-wide decisions through data-driven insights, budgeting, and planning. This is an onsite position based in Chapel Hill, NC, offering the chance to make a significant impact in a values-driven, people-first organization.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic financial partner to the President and executive team
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and modeling
• Lead budgeting processes, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning
• Oversee accounting operations: AP, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close
• Ensure GAAP compliance and manage all regulatory reporting
• Maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting processes
• Lead and develop the accounting team
• Partner with operational leaders to streamline store-level financial processes
• Oversee financial systems and collaborate on IT infrastructure as needed
• Implement technology solutions to improve reporting, accuracy, and efficiency

✅ What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Controller
• Experience in multi-location service industry REQUIRED
• Certifications: CPA or CMA preferred
• Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting
• Leadership experience with a track record of high growth, companies with revenue of $40M+
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; ERP experience a plus
• High integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
